Love it when a hotshot puts his reputation on the line

  1. Kim, as my husband said, "that is a powerful statement". We live in a civilized world, but where are our priorities? Thank you for the link. I'm going to check it out right away. We must all try to make a difference in some way for the hungry children in this world.
    Hugs dear friend!

  2. This puts our spending programs in perspective! "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress ..." (James 1:27) How do the "great" leaders of the world miss this?

  3. I'll have to look into this more. I am all for privately funded charities - especially those that deliver direct assistance.

  5. I give money to the food banks. They need donations more than ever. Here in So. Cal we have lots of families that have been displaced due to unemployment and the housing crisis. Also, I have a brain-damaged grandson, and we give him everything we can. It's frustrating because I'd like to give more but you have to focus. I wish I had the kind of income that Sean Penn has, my grandson would be able to continue with the therapy that the state of California has discontinued due to our budget crisis, that's for sure.

  6. Elizabeth,

I think it's wonderful that you give locally and I think it's very important too. Shaune and I give regularly to our local food bank also. And I'm so sorry to hear about your grandson!

We all have causes near and dear to our hearts and it can be a wonderful world when we focus on the areas that are important to us. For me, I have seen first hand what it is like to be hungry, homeless, and in need in a third world country. I think about those parts of the world where a child can't even get a proper drink of water or one meal a day all the time because it has effected me personally. So that is why here on my blog I choose to mention charities that support that cause. I used this PSA because I thought it was a smart way to get people focused on this cause. It`s definitely not the only cause. Sadly people listen when a celebrity speaks. As for his money, I`m sure we all wish we had that. Hopefully if we ever did end up in that position we would do something to help those in need.
